Artist statement

My art pieces are an expression of my life of the love I have for nature, and blessing of life constantly unfolding. With each piece I can communicate my thoughts through the shapes, forms, textures, and colors of the glaze I use during the process of creating.  I choose to allow my art to tell a story, or ideal to the audience. I have worked with different mediums but I find the use of clay allows me to manipulate my ideas better.
In the process after letting all the moisture escape the clay I place the pieces in a kiln about 4000 degree.  After the piece or pieces is completely fired, I then began to glaze my creations.  After the glazing is complete, I add broken glass to give an effect to the piece or pieces that gives my body of work identity like an artifact, evoking an aesthetic emotion from the viewers.  I am inspired by Pablo Picasso, because of his discovery of cubism’s and his love for different vantage point, used to create his paintings.
