Born in Saint Paul, MN. I'm an Artist in my own right. I have been creating and developing my talents at an early age starting with water colors but I knew I had talent when I recognized the color in my eyes. I usually doodle or sketch mostly everything to transform these ideas that manifests into something of a born idea. For me these ideas are a perfect thought but when trying to create that imagery on paper becomes secondary, still it is the aesthetic emotions that I portray in my pieces that I want people to be moved by. I have been creating some unique bracelets trying to identify with my body of work as far as color is concern delivering a duality in my message. The Collection is known as the K.S. collection. I am going to further my expedition in exploring new ideas to create more.
At the age of 12 my poem was published through a contest, in a Book Timeless Voices. At 13 two of my photographs were purchased in a Community Outreach Gala and during high school I was a part of Central Touring Theatre for two years, I interned with Eliza Rasheed who was Jan Mandell student that started a theatre program that created and performed its own production throughout the school year. We toured Carlton College, Mankato States, University of MN, As well as junior high, and elementary schools. Having open dialogue with the audience members about topics we brought up. In 2011 I participated in the 7th annual Intergenerational spoken word series Pass the Mic. Honoring Sonia Sanchez, and Daniel Simmons who started Def Poetry Jam. In 2011 I completed the twin Cities youth poetry slam series to be a part of the team of Brave New Voices sadly I was dropped from the team because I couldn’t make it to one meeting, but was a part of the 2013, youth poetry team representing MN. In 2013 I was a part of a discussion panel regarding Tan skin vs. Brown skin at Augsburg College. My experience with being an artist comes in many different forms which made me diversified in the various bodies of work, I am a creator. |
