Bio:
Coming from the Midwest Region of the country, Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, now living in Chandler Arizona. I was blessed with a gift that is still inside me today. It's the gift to see, feel, and produce art. At age 7 I picked up a pencil and found I could draw what ever I put my mind to.

I received this gift in part from my mother and father, they both were artist, and my mother was the first black window display designer and store designer  for Charles A. Stevens, well known building in downtown Chicago. Displaying her work in the State street windows and thru out the store, I wanted to be just like her. There were times when my friends were outside playing I would be inside drawing with her, or sitting at the table drawing what ever came to my mine.

Before I left grammor school I was voted "class artist" by my class. Designing sets for plays, In high school I studied advance art, was a member of the art club, and worked on the year book committie designing the cover. I received a art scholarship while still a junior in high school, to the Art Institute of Chicago.  I had the opportunity and pleasure of studying with some of the worlds foremost authorities of traditional art, textile design, sculpture, painting shading, shadows, silk screening, and charcoal.

I attended The Art Instruction School, and Interior Design School, always trying to enhance my creativity to obtain a higher level while raising four sons. Working and taking care of a family for 27 years, I never lost my passion for art, I continued drawing. As a result my sons all received the gift of art. With them we share energy, spirit and knowledge with each other. They push me, and in so doing they make me stronger, and make me want  to be the best I can be.

My sons and I plan to open an art gallery and my goal is to teach small children the joys of art. My pieces are one of a kind from my heart and soul. Art expresses dreams, feeling and communication. I have diversified experience as a free-lance artist, commercial illustrator, design, advertising consulttant and interior designer.

Artist Statement:

Art to me is a gift I was given at birth, a blessing to be able to put on paper, canvas, whatever I can use or manipulate into my art. The mediums I choose is of all sorts.

I'm inspired by all that is around me, and all I have seen, coming up on 70 years of life, I have seen a lot, and teaching myself mostly all I know , from going to 8 grammar schools on the south side of Chicago.

The deaths of my brother, and my 11month old son, two marriages and an accident that could have taken my life, is what  inspires me, life give me new meaning each day and is the departure point for me to express myself through my art pieces.
