Bio:
Monica “Money $tallion” Stallings was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She is an artist practically from birth. An 80’s baby through and through, she was brought up on video games and Saturday morning cartoons, and the first thing she ever drew was Pac Man. Thanks to the influence from her father Bobby, she acquired a deep love for music, Kung Fu Flicks and subsequently, Chinese and Japanese culture. Thanks to her mother she took an interest in the beauty of nature, the psychology of people, country music, a huge imagination, and anime. After realizing she didn't see many super-heroines that looked like her, she created characters and a storyline called Nubian Sistas in her youth, a team culturally diverse team of metahumans who are recent incarnations of ancient warriors, mostly female, mostly Brown. Unfortunately, she wasn’t good at compelling back stories, and by time she cultivated the skill, she had already begun working on Crescent Death. In her teens, she created Crescent Death as an homage to Kung Fu flicks, Hokuto No Ken, and magical girl anime. She has also collaborated with other artists to bring their projects to life, but now she desires to make her own come to life. She would love nothing more than to have her Crescent Death novel published and/or turned into an animated series. She is working toward completing that goal. She is also owner/operator of the fledgling business Money $tallion Studios, through which she also sells her unique, custom earrings. |
