Bio:
Born in Erie, PA my childhood was pretty rough which caused me to find an outlet to express my inner self for what I was going through. Being homeless seemed to be my worst nightmare. All I had was my sister and my artwork at this time. My mom was on drugs and I was taking medicine that made me sick and was affecting my kidneys. I began to get weak as I sat upon this couch that was in a drug-infested house. I eventually stopped taking the medicine and began to make sketches that became classic pieces of artwork of beautiful drawings. This has given me my strength back. Although I’m self-taught, I learned my part of artistry from my brother and cousin learning more about technique. I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2003 to 2006, while there, some of my artwork was displayed in the schools art gallery, but in 2015 my art business, Destiny's Art was born. I moved from Pittsburgh to Kentucky to Ohio to get married and pursue my art business.

Artist statement:
I am an inspiring artist. My departure points of inspiration are women of color that provide me the ingenuity to construct something aesthetically pleasing. Growing up I did not see many creative images of women of color and I didn't see women being accepted for how they expressed themselves with their colorful hairstyles, jewelry and clothing.
I began to love myself as myself within myself and it felt like I was all by myself because it was hard for me as it was for many others. My work started to speak to young girls and women going through what I went through. I wanted to let them know that they are not in this misconception of color alone. In my art work I try to relate the meaning behind their beauty and reassure them of their worth. The optimistic energy I absorb allows me to embrace this cosmic learning experience and inhale the positive connection that we women go through and exhale the negative into stunning pieces of art.
The hurt in this world makes my soul cry and sometime becomes a distraction but it permits me to soulfully become inspiring. I am enticed to develop drawings that have a concept and meaning behind the work. Women have always been one of God's most beautiful creations to me and I will continue to uplift women no matter what their skin tone, hairstyle, shape, or background is.
