Collaborating to form a more perfect union with artist of every diversity
Kianna Reed
Bio: My name is Kianna Reed. I Graduated from Merrillville high school in 2015.
I have been practicing art all my life, but it was not until my junior year in high school that I started painted.
From that point I fell in love and have never stopped painting since. I spent my first year of college at Indianna University Northwest studying fine arts.
Artist Statement:
I like art because it is a way to bring thoughts of what I may feel at times to life without having to speak or explain it all to everyone. Sometimes people get what my art is about by the aesthetic emotion that my pieces evoke while others need an explanation of its intent, which is fine with me as well. There many sizes of canvases I choose to paint on depending on the mood and the thought of what I am evoking.
While my art evokves many different moods some of my pieces express a happy feeling and has a distinct bright, and colorful touch in the way that I paint my subject matter. Others paintings I create are calm and relaxing, lately I have been focusing my art pieces on social issues. What I hope to accomplish is to successfully depict what I feel and spread awareness of many different issues that we face.
